WHO IS MUTO?

The MUTO Project is a Vienna-based association that organizes exhibitions and immersive artistic projects to foster international dialogue and collaboration. Our mission is to create spaces where experimentation and dialogue are welcomed, and where the human experience—raw, complex, and vibrant—can be fully realized.

BUNKER

AT THE PHOTOGETHER GALLERY, NOV. 2024

For the latest If There’s a Common Thread project, 13 international artists spent 10 days living and creating in an atomic bunker in Zlín, Czech Republic. Together, they worked both individually and as a collective organism, holding nightly forums and forming a parallel world with its own norms, rituals, and a distorted sense of time and space. The experience culminated in a four-day opening ceremony, merging this surreal microcosm with the outside world.

AT ADY25 GALÈRIA, SEPT. 2023

The second installment of If There’s a Common Thread took place in Budapest, in an old ivy-covered villa with an idyllic garden. Following its debut in Vienna as part of the dual show that launched the experiment, the event concluded with a campfire gathering. This became a space for open dialogue, where ideas, artistic endeavors, and personal experiences were shared, marking a defining moment in the exhibition series.
